Thorough Cleaning

Before you begin storing your equipment, it is absolutely essential to clean everything thoroughly.

Workwear

Protective Equipment

Helmets, safety glasses, hearing protectors, and other protective items should be cleaned from dust, sweat, and dirt. Use a gentle cleaning agent and a soft cloth.

Work Footwear

Remove mud and dust from shoes. For leather footwear, use special leather care products.

Clean equipment is not only a matter of hygiene but also safety. Dirty protective equipment may lose its protective properties.

Drying

After cleaning, it is important to allow everything to dry completely. Moisture is the number one enemy during storage.

  • Hang clothes on hangers or a clothesline and let them air dry
  • Fill shoes with newspaper to absorb moisture and let them dry at room temperature
  • Never dry shoes directly on a radiator
  • Wipe protective equipment dry and leave it in a ventilated area

Inspection and Repairs

Before storing everything away, carefully inspect all items.

Proper Storage

Once everything is clean, dry, and in good condition, it is time for storage.

Avoid storing equipment in damp basements or direct sunlight. UV radiation can damage materials and reduce their protective properties.

  • Store shoes in boxes or on shoe racks, never directly on the floor

  • Store them in a dry and dark place, preferably in sealed containers or bags
